“The Next Era in Microfinance”: Sept. 22 event featuring GP’s Rick Beckett

August 31, 2009 No Comments

Rick Beckett of Global PartnershipsOn Tuesday, September 22, Global Partnerships’ President & CEO Rick Beckett will speak on the topic of “The Next Era in Microfinance” at the Frye Art Museum Auditorium. SeaMo and Global Partnerships are cosponsoring the event.

Here’s a brief description of the thought-provoking program: Twenty-five years after modern microfinance was pioneered in Bangladesh and India, the key question about microfinance is no longer “Does it work?” but “How do we have the most impact?” Join Global Partnerships President & CEO Rick Beckett for a wide-ranging discussion of microfinance’s evolution from its charity-driven roots to an industry that touches more than150 million people worldwide; the new era it’s entering; and the defining challenges it faces today.

Because space is limited, we do recommend that you register beforehand at the Global Partnerships website. (Go here to register and for full event details.) We’re asking for a $5 donation at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm and the program starts at 7pm.

Please help spread the word! Here’s a link to a pdf of a flyer that you can post in your neighborhood coffee shop, college, etc.
