Currently, access to insurance – which is a crucial tool in everyone’s financial toolbox – is very limited in the developing world. Similarly, many microfinance institutions lack sufficient access to reinsurance or other risk transfer solutions. This lack of access hampers product expansion and penetration, hinders product innovation and compromises institutional sustainability.
