Senior Editor, Microfinance Insights, Beyond Profit (Intellecap)

Microfinance Insights (www.microfinanceinsights.com) is an international print magazine published by Intellecap to serve the knowledge needs of the growing microfinance sector.  The magazine publishes diverse global voices, uncovers trends, and analyzes critical issues from economic, business, and social angles.  The magazine has over 10,000 readers around the world, and regularly hosts its own events and participates in conferences around the world.

Beyond Profit (www.beyondprofitmag.com) is a new publication by Intellecap focusing on social enterprise, social investing and social entrepreneurship in developing and emerging markets.

Intellecap is building its team, and looking for a senior editor to handle content development for both magazines, coordinate author outreach, and lead the editing process and execution, adhering to the magazine’s high editorial standards. The senior editor will work closely with the managing editor, and will guide two associate editors.

Intellecap is a social investment advisory firm, working with for-profit development enterprises, social investors and social entrepreneurs from around the world.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

· Work as part of a team to create and develop content for two 60-page magazines

· Develop content for magazine e-newsletters and blogs

· Conceptualize new content, develop editorial calendar, and create concept notes outlining each issue in advance

· Expand and liaise with an ever increasing author network and a new editorial board

· Work with the editorial board to determine best content and authors

· Liaise with authors/journalists and guide them in the development of their articles

· Guide a team in the compilation of survey data and trend analysis for each issue

· Guide the team of designers to produce a beautiful, full color magazine

· Disseminate press releases and create media outreach for the publication

· Ability to operate under fixed deadlines, continuously producing a quality product

Skills/qualifications/experience:

· Experienced editor with an eye for detail

· Superb written, oral and graphic/visual communication skills are required

· Leadership, creativity, maturity, drive, intellectual curiosity and a desire to innovate

· Ability to be part of a team of professionals and guide a small, young team in content development

· Experience within, and knowledge of, the social enterprise space and/or microfinance domain

· 2-5 years of experience in media/publication domain

· Desire to do more fulfilling and meaningful work, with the passion to work in a growing, entrepreneurial business

· A demonstrated record of success in a rigorous academic program and relevant professional experience

· Willingness to live and work in Mumbai, India, is mandatory.
