Kiva Tests Microfinance Matching

April 15, 2009 1 Comment

kivalogoKiva continues to innovate in its methods of fundraising for both donations and loan capital. The newest feature is a matching program that allows current lenders to pair up with new lenders. Essentially, current lenders allocate a certain amount of their loan capital to be disbursed by new lenders. The idea is to give new borrowers a sense of greater impact, while addressing one of the key dilemmas of the Kiva site: dormant capital in current lenders’ accounts.

For those interested in learning more, and possibly commenting on the beta version of the new feature, please view the Slideshare presentation.
