Short Term Consultant, Global Assets Project

Employment Opportunity

The Global Assets Project is seeking a short-term consultant to provide
project management support and coordination over a period of 6 months
beginning in mid-June 2009. This is a part-time position with an
anticipated work load of 10-15 days per month (this may vary).

The Global Assets Project, a joint venture between the Center for Social
Development at Washington University in St. Louis and the Asset Building
Program at the New America Foundation, aims to advance innovations in
public policies, programs, and research that building savings and assets
for poor and low-income populations around the world. For more

Primary Responsibilities
* Project Coordination: Coordinate the Global Assets Project
activities among several partnerships and on-going initiatives.
* Research Support: Provide policy research support to the Deputy
Director.
* Communications Activities: Represent the Project at meetings and
events. Participate in communications activities such as blogging and
independent writing and website maintenance. Contribute to editing and
publishing reports and other publications.
* Project Development: Assist in project development, including
research and analysis related to program design. Coordinate with
management staff to complete progress reports.
* Events: Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of
events.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

* A bachelor’s degree in social policy, international development,
economics, international relations, or related field;
* Knowledge of and experience in the asset building field,
preferably globally;
* At least 3 years of project management experience;
* Proven research and analytical skills;
* Strong communications skills, including speaking, writing and
editing; and
* Enthusiastic and energetic self-starter who works well both
independently, and with a team.
