The next few days in Haiti will determine how quickly Haiti can recover from this earthquake. A donation today to one of the organizations managing the relief efforts will make a greater impact than waiting a week, a month or a year to give.

I met Leigh Carter, the Executive Director of Fonkoze USA a decade ago while working for Witness for Peace. Our two organizations shared office space, and she also served on our board of directors. Fonkoze is a leading economic development ngo in Haiti and the primary microfinance institution in the country. Leigh was leading a delegation in Haiti when the earthquake struck two days ago, and is now in need of emergency medical evacuation.

Please consider a donation to Fonkoze’s Relief and Rehabilitation Fund. To give, click HERE.
