Greennote: P2P Student Loans

March 10, 2009 No Comments

studentsleftheader1Although, strictly speaking, Greennote isn’t microfinance, it’s an interesting example of how other forms of finance have evolved out of the innovations that microfinance has introduced. In particular, Greennote.com is using the Kiva model and applying it to student loans. Compare this to Gradefund.com, where you also hit up your friends and family for financial support for college, but in the form of payment for good grades.

I don’t have children, let alone college-aged children, but I imagine for those who do, these options represent even more choice in the confusing world of college finances.
