Position Summary:
We seek a dynamic, passionate team player to coordinate and execute a variety of marketing and communications programs and activities in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, a creative thinker, able to work independently, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and project management skills, and thrive upon multi-tasking. The Global Communications Coordinator will work closely with all members of the Global Communications Team (and throughout the organization) to help build widespread awareness of Unitus within its identified target audiences, develop and maintain our brand, conduct outreach and awareness campaigns, and build affinity for the organization with key stakeholders. In addition to supporting marketing and fundraising campaigns and programs, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the Unitus.com website (working with an outsource web development firm), developing and executing email marketing communications, tracking and analyzing marketing results, and managing our electronic marketing systems, digital assets, collateral, and other marketing infrastructure.

Critical attributes for success include a sense of humor, strong desire to be part of a highly functioning team, significant degree of technology savvy, persistence, resourcefulness, tolerance for ambiguity, and an ability to see what needs to be done and just make it happen!

This position reports to the Vice President of Global Communications.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Campaigns and Events:
• Assist in creating and executing marketing campaigns with specific deliverables, including e-mail newsletters and solicitations, annual report, fundraising appeals, online advertising and marketing campaigns, and more
• Assist in developing copy and/or messaging for public relations activities, such as press releases, fact sheets, reports, awards applications, and other materials
• Coordinate events strategy and logistics
• Systems and Infrastructure:
• Website management, maintenance, and updates
• Develop and send electronic communications (HTML emails, newsletters, etc.)
• Manage marketing database and mailing lists (using Salesforce.com)
• Maintain/update Unitus presence on third-party websites
• Manage marketing assets (collateral, photos, videos, etc.)

• Tracking, Analysis, and Reporting:
• Industry and competitive research
• Media coverage/trends tracking and analysis
• Establish, monitor, and analyze all appropriate marketing systems to ensure optimal effectiveness of the org and all communications (metrics and reporting)

Requirements
• 3+ years marketing experience, including web marketing, product marketing, corporate communications and/or public relations experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical and project management skills
• Knowledge of HTML, email marketing systems (such as Vertical Response), web content management systems, basic graphic design skills, and web-based marketing/social marketing techniques a significant advantage
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and/or other similar software highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated environment
• A passion for social issues and a desire to change the world!
