Microenterprise Intern and Volunteer Positions Available in Seattle

Washington CASH is seeking interns and volunteers to support its Ventures program in Seattle. Information on the marketing intern position:

Position: Marketing & Communications Intern

Job Description: The Marketing & Communications Intern will provide support for the Marketing Director.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • The intern would work closely with the Marketing Director to develop marketing materials, newsletter articles, social media campaigns, and other creative work to promote the mission of Washington C.A.S.H. and that of our “retail incubator,” Ventures. http://www.washingtoncash.org/ventures
  • Intern would split time between the main Washington C.A.S.H office, at Ventures in Pioneer Square, and could do some work remotely.

Time Commitment: Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for at least three to six months preferred. Flexible hours allowed. Schedule to be negotiated with Marketing Director.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills (demonstrated with writing sample; journalistic writing experience a plus)
  • Social media experience
  • Basic familiarity with graphic design software (photo editing, layout)
  • General research and basic data analysis ability
  • Good communication skills and comfortable interviewing others, such as program participants
  • Possible event participation to represent the organization and/or developing relationships to create cross-promotion opportunities
  • Interest or experience in retail a plus
  • Preferred: student with own laptop for project work
