Launch of an Online Home for Microfinance Client Protection, www.smartcampaign.org

March 8, 2010 No Comments

Back in October of 2009 The Smart Campaign (formerly known as the Campaign for Client Protection in Microfinance), a global coalition of microfinance institutions, networks, associations, and  professionals serving as an umbrella for all microfinance industry‐wide efforts on client protection, was announced.

The Smart Campaign is working with microfinance leaders from around the world to provide microfinance institutions with the tools and resources they need to deliver transparent, respectful, and prudent financial services to all clients,  and to that end they just announced the launch of  www.smartcampaign.org, an online home for The Smart Campaign.  The website provides Smart Campaign participants – particularly microfinance institutions, networks, and associations – with the tools and resources they need to fully implement the Client Protection Principles throughout their operations, including a questionnaire to assess their current client protection practices, a community knowledge base, endorsement invitations, and best practices publications.
